About Jay Burns: Owner/Operator of Ozark Metal Craft
Founded in the summer of 2022, our metal works company is the result of years of hands-on experience, passion for craftsmanship, and a deep-rooted desire to build something lasting—for both our clients and our family. I first learned to weld at 16, and after spending the last 6–7 years working full time in the trade, I decided it was time to start a business that reflects not just what I do, but who I am.
Originally from the Mississippi Delta, I moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1989. After a five-year chapter in Michigan—where my wife Melissa is from—we returned to NWA to raise our three kids: Boston, Kennedy, and Rocco. It’s been amazing to watch this region grow, and I’m grateful for the opportunity it provides to work, create, and support a family.
Metalwork is more than just a job for me—it’s a way to bring ideas to life. Whether it’s a one-of-a-kind railing or a large custom project, I love the process of turning a concept into something solid, functional, and beautiful. I launched this business not only to deliver high-quality results but also to build a legacy. I hope to one day work side by side with my son and eventually pass this company down to my boys.
